Accelerator business SNOAP gets Dragon’s Den investment

Welsh Royal Bank Accelerator business SNOAP cleaned up on the BBC TV show Dragon’s Den after wowing the judges with an innovative solid soap dispenser. Entrepreneur Lisa Hicks had all five dragons make an offer to invest. She opted to work with Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden for a 7.5% stake on a £50,000 investment.

How Accelerator helped

Lisa worked closely with our Accelerator hub to perfect her product and pitch after joining the community 18 months ago. Our goal is to empower entrepreneurs to realise their potential. Luke Pamflett, the Accelerator Community Manager explains:

"We’re incredibly proud of Lisa and SNOAP. Winning over not one but two Dragons is a testament to the incredible talent and innovative ideas we see amongst our Accelerator participants."

"I was confident the Dragons would love SNOAP and I knew my numbers inside out having been supported by the NatWest team via their Accelerator over the last 18 months… and the support of 1-1 coaching from NatWest has been invaluable in preparing for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with Deborah and Peter to expand SNOAP with both consumers and businesses to reduce the plastic issues generated by hand, hair and body washing while also saving consumers and businesses money."

Better for you, your wallet, and the planet

Lisa had her eureka moment during the pandemic when she realised how much single-use plastic her family was using. Her product, SNOAP, replaces 20 plastic soap bottles with two soap bars, perfectly blending the sustainable benefits of solid soap with the convenience of her unique, mess-free SNOAP dispenser. She’ll be using the cash injection from the dragons for marketing and getting the word about the product.

About SNOAP

Founded during lockdown by Lisa and her husband Antony, the couple are passionate about reducing the amount of single-use plastic.  SNOAP fills a gap in the market as a solid soap dispenser, and offers cost saving over liquid soap too. Plus it contributes towards preserving the planet by becoming part of the solution to plastic pollution.
