Split Bill is a functionality in the NatWest, Royal Bank and Ulster Bank NI Mobile App, available to NW and RBS Business Current Account and Foundation Account holders and UBNI Business Current Account holders only. It allows the user to split a debit transaction (pending or processed) between up to 9 people, generating payment request links for the payers, providing they have an eligible account with a participating UK bank and use mobile or online banking.
Transactions can be split between up to 9 people, with a max transaction value of £10,000 per person, i.e. max £100,000 transaction. The transaction amount must be > £0.01 for the Split Bill function to work. You can split a maximum of 10 transaction in a 24 hour period.
The following steps show you how to use this feature:
1. Click on a transaction (processed or pending)
2. Select Split Bill
3. Enter number of people for the split
4. Select the person who you want to split the bill with. i.e. ‘John’
5. Option to edit the value of transaction split if not equal between payers
6. Generate separate payment request links for each payer
7. Choose Share link and follow the instructions to share link through social channels
