Who we have supported

Our support so far

In the last five years, Social & Community Capital has approved over £10 million in loans to more than 80 organisations throughout the UK. Our ambition is to increase the size and strength of this important sector of the UK economy. Here are some examples of the social ventures we've supported.

Huntly Development Trust (HDT)

HDT is a dynamic community organisation based in the historic market town of Huntly, Aberdeenshire.

Sun Pier House CIC

Sun Pier House CIC is a creative arts space and venue split across 3 floors with a big ambition: to enrich lives through arts and heritage.

bemix

bemix works to support people with autism and other learning difficulties in Canterbury, Dover, Thanet, Sittingbourne, and Medway.

Heron Educational Foundation

Heron provide affordable housing for local people and support children and young people in education and beyond.

The Ledge

The Ledge is a community-focused climbing centre with a social mission. It helps people overcome life challenges through the shared  experience of climbing.

Sole of Discretion

The mission of Sole of Discretion is to provide high quality, sustainably sourced and traceable fish for consumers.

Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust

The Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust (GVVT) uses its incredible collection of restored vehicles to encourage community engagement and generate social inclusion.

Northumbria Youth Action

Northumbria Youth Action (NYA) offers young people practical courses and qualifications on motor vehicles, hairdressing and beauty therapy, and hospitality, giving them the opportunity to gain real life skills and experience to help boost them into their chosen career.

Create (Cornwall) CIC

Camborne Contemporary Crafts Hub (CCCH), established by Create (Cornwall) CIC, has given an old building in Camborne town centre a new lease of life as an accessible space that welcomes people from across the community, regardless of income, age or artistic ability.

Harmony Community Trust

Harmony Community Trust is all about bringing people together. It does this at Glebe House, a unique and special place in Northern Ireland that children, young people and adults have been visiting since 1975.

Institute for Optimum Nutrition

Sandhaven and Pitullie

Sandhaven and Pitullie Harbour used to be one of the best harbours on the Moray Firth. Through a loan bridging facility, various projects have been carried out.

Bristol Together

Since beginning operations in 2011, Bristol Together has developed more than 70 properties in the local community and supported over 60 former prisoners back into work in the process.

Monkey Park

Monkey Park is a place for local people to come together, with a café, bakery, co-working space, activity space and bike workshop. See how our funding has helped them build their space and develop their business.

Campbeltown Picture House

A building of important historical and architectural significance, Campbeltown Picture House has been restored with the help of S&CC funding, creating a community hub as well as career opportunities and training.

Crisis

Crisis provides counselling to people in the local community with difficulties such as depression and anxiety. We helped Crisis to expand their service with funding for a new building to enable them to accommodate more clients.
