Business Insights on the mobile app

Any user who has access to your business in the mobile app will have access to Business Insights. Categories will be the same for every user, meaning if one employee keeps categories up-to-date, any changes will reflect for all users.

Your Business and Personal Insights tabs are kept separate, so you'll never see anything relating to your personal accounts when viewing your Business Insights, and vice versa.

Business Insights doesn’t integrate with 3rd party accounting software. If you've got accounting software; we recommend you keep using that as usual.

You can only view Business Insights for one business at a time. To switch businesses, return to the home screen and select a different business in the mobile app.

You don't have to use the Business Insights feature, but it will always be there for you if you choose to use it in the future. Everything else in the mobile app will still work the same as it does now.

In Categories, you will see a rolling 12-month period view of your business current accounts' income and spending.

No, categories are automatically set based on the most common business transaction types. But you can re-categorise a transaction by navigating through the category in which it sits, selecting the transaction and tapping ‘Change’. Once you’ve chosen the new category, you have the option to either change 3 additional similar transactions or ‘skip’. If you choose to change the 3 similar transactions, Insights learns which category to place these transactions in the future.

Yes, however you will not be able to change the category of a pending transaction until it is fully cleared in your account.

Transfers between your accounts are automatically excluded from your summary. You can also manually exclude transactions such as large one-off payments, so your monthly highlights are as accurate as possible. To do this, select the transaction you’d like to exclude, tap ‘Change’ and then ‘Exclude from insights’. You will then have the option to either exclude 3 additional similar transactions or ‘skip’. If you choose to exclude the 3 similar transactions, Insights learns to exclude all future transactions with this narrative.

Highlights can take up to a couple of days to update after you change your settings. Please check back later for updated Highlights.

You will be able to see all your business current and savings accounts in Business Insights. We are working to add other types of accounts and transactions in the future, including credit cards which aren't available right now.

The month start date can be amended. Within Insights, tap the Settings icon in the top right of the screen and select 'Set a date'.
