Can you tell me about car breakdown cover?

Our Platinum and Black accounts come with Car Breakdown Cover included. This is provided by Automobile Association Developments Limited (trading as AA Breakdown Services).

This is a type of insurance that means you'll get assistance if your car breaks down. If your vehicle can't be fixed at the roadside, the AA could help you complete your journey.

Key limitations to this service are:

  • the vehicle can weigh no more than 3.5t and be no more than 2.55m wide (and in Europe there are additional restrictions of no more than 3m in height, and no longer than 7m)
  • the vehicle can only be being used for private and domestic use only. You can't use this service for any vehicle you are using for commerical purposes. This includes carrying items/people for money, delivery or collection of goods, transporting people, or carrying equipment, tools or materials for commercial purposes (or any combination of private, domestic and commercial use).
