Questions about joining Premier

What do I need to qualify for Premier banking?

To join our Premier Banking service, you'll need to be:

Aged 18+ and a permanent UK resident

And have ONE of the following:

£100k sole income or £120k joint income paid into your Royal Bank account;

£100k or more savings or investments held with us; OR

£500k minimum mortgage borrowings with us.

What should I expect when I call or start a webchat?

We will confirm a few details about you and your circumstances and agree a time that suits you to speak with one of our dedicated Premier Banking Managers. From your first conversation, your Premier Banking Manager will discuss your financial objectives, but there is no obligation to take any of our services.

What documents will I need?

Confirming your identity
You'll need to provide information on your current address and post code. New customers will also need to provide either your driving licence or passport.

Evidence of criteria met
To help us understand your needs and evidence the criteria you meet, please have the relevant financial documentation to hand (for example: statements, tax returns, bank statements).

Can I join Premier Banking if I live outside of the UK?

If you are moving to the UK within the next 3 months, we would be able to welcome you to Premier Banking once you have arrived in the country. Please contact our Premier Banking team who will be happy to help.

If you are not moving to the UK, we would not be able to offer you the Premier service.

If you are living outside the UK but still within the EU. You could still open an account with Royal Bank of Scotland.

What if I no longer qualify?

We'll review your eligibility for Premier Banking regularly. We may also change our eligibility criteria in future. If you no longer meet the Premier income requirements, we will contact you to discuss your options.

You will no longer have a Premier Banking Manager, but you can use our telephony services, online and mobile banking.

Your account number and sort code, as well as any logins and passwords will remain the same.
