Mobile branches

A mobile branch is a bank that comes to you. You can do all your usual everyday banking, like making deposits, withdrawing cash or paying bills.

These branches visit different places for up to 5 days a week (except for Christmas Day and bank holidays).

If you have a disability, are elderly or find it difficult to use our services, just chat to our team. They’ll be happy to make reasonable adjustments to suit your needs and show how we can help.

Banking hubs

We’ve worked with Cash Access UK and other banks to open dedicated banking hubs.

Personal and business customers can use banking hubs for basic services from Monday to Friday. These include:

  • making deposits and withdrawals
  • balance enquiries
  • paying bills.

A member of the Royal Bank team is also on hand once a week to help personal and business customers with more specific queries.

Cash deposit machines

Pay in and take out cash using new technology

Cash deposit machines help personal and business customers to withdraw or deposit banknotes with their chip and PIN card. You’ll just need to stick to any account and product cash limits. And keep in mind that these machines don’t accept coins, cheques or credit slips.

Protecting access to cash

We want to ensure access to cash is protected wherever we have customers. We work with LINK to carry out cash access assessments in places which might need better cash access services.

This means we ask LINK to conduct independent access to cash assessments whenever we close a branch or remove an ATM. LINK may also conduct assessments where cash services offered by other providers are removed or where they are requested by the local community.

If new cash services are recommended by LINK, we will work with our industry partners to protect access to cash in a community. This might include putting in a new ATM or Banking Hub.

Concerned about access to cash in your area?

If you are concerned about access to cash in your local area, you can check where you can access cash using LINK's Cash Locator tool. You may also be able to ask LINK to conduct a cash access assessment.

LINK may have already looked at your area and made a recommendation to make things better. Check whether your local area has had a LINK access to cash assessment.

If not, you can request that LINK conduct an access to cash assessment in your area.

You will be able to find any open cash access facilities on LINK’s cash locator.

Below you will be able to find details of any solutions that we are still working with industry to delivery. This will include Banking Hubs, new deposit services and ATMs.
