International payment tracker

Payment tracking allows you to track inbound and outbound international SWIFT payments from where the payment has been made to the final party in the payment journey. For the outbound payment, you can obtain the Unique-end-to-end Transaction Reference (UETR) from the Bankline Payment Tracking Journey. You can also share the UETR and tracking link with the recipient to help them track the payment.

It shows the amount sent, amount received and the status of the payment. There’s no charge for using payment tracking.

Payments up to 120 working days old can be tracked. For details of payments older than 120 days contact your customer service team.

You’ll be able to track most international payments which are visible in SWIFT (our payment tracking channel). 

If your payment type travels via another scheme, such as Euro SEPA payments or Faster Payments, you won’t be able to track your payment.

To track international payments – you’ll need to enter a Unique End-to-End Transaction Reference (UETR) - you can get this from the remitter (the person or business sending the payment).

If the correct information has been entered a screen will return showing the end-to-end journey of the payment, with a tracking status to show at what stage your payment is at and the amount sent. 

The amount received will show once the payment is complete. 

Please note, if you see additional banks on the tracker than the ones on the payment instruction, this is because banks use ‘correspondent banks’ in different countries to process payments.

• Complete – Payment processing is complete, and the amount has been credited to the recipient’s account.
• In Progress – Payment is currently being processed  through the SWIFT network.
• Rejected – Payment could not be credited to the beneficiary account.
• Unable to track – Payment delivered to a payment network where tracking is unavailable.

If you’ve cancelled your payment, this won’t show as a status and you’ll instead see the latest status of the payment before it was cancelled. Please contact your customer service team if you need more information.
