Stop a cheque

You can do this in Digital Banking or the mobile app.

In the app, select the account that the cheque is debiting from.
Tap 'Cheques and stationery'. then 'Stop cheque'

Or, log in to Digital Banking and click 'Chat to Cora'. Cora, our digital assistant, will take the details and stop cheques for you there. We’ll process requests received on a weekend or bank holiday on the next working day.

Manage standing orders

You can create, amend and cancel standing orders in Digital Banking or the mobile app.

Log in to Digital Banking, go to ‘Payments and transfers’ then ‘Manage Standing Orders’.
When using the app, choose the correct account and then select ‘Standing Orders’.

If you don’t have Digital Banking or the mobile app

You can manage your standing orders using this digital form. There's a limit of £10,000:

View payments and send money

To view recent payments and your account balance, log in to Digital Banking. You’ll find your balance and available balances on the ‘Account Summary’ page.

You can also view your balances and recent payments on our Mobile app.

How to make a transfer between your accounts

Select the 'Payments' icon from the home screen and make sure you have selected the account you want to make the transfer from
Select the account that you want to transfer to, and the amount. You can add a reference if you want to
Choose the date you want to send the money on, now or in the future, then select 'Make transfer'

Order account statements

Log in to Digital Banking, go to ‘Statements & transactions’ then ‘Statements’.

Not got Digital Banking? You can sign up here. You'll need your account number and sort code.

To change your statement preferences:

You can choose to receive your statements paperless, ready to download in Digital Banking and Mobile Banking, by managing your paperless preferences.

In Digital Banking, go to 'Paperless settings' at the top menu.
In the Mobile Banking app, tap on your profile icon and select 'paperless settings'.

For each of your accounts you'll be able to select if you want to receive it by post or online. Save the changes when you've finished your selection. You can change this at any time.

You'll need to speak to our webchat team to change the frequency of your statements.

Our team are online 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm on Saturdays, and 9am to 5pm on Sundays.

Click ‘Chat to Cora’ to get started.

Cancel a direct debit

You can do this in Digital Banking or our mobile app.

Digital Banking:

Once logged in, got to 'Payments & Transfers". From the 'Direct debits' section, select 'Manage direct debits'. If you need any help, click the support button there.

The mobile app:

From the app, choose the account with the direct debit you want to cancel, then select 'Direct debits'.

If you don’t have Digital Banking:

You can cancel a Direct Debit using the digital form below.

The form will ask for the email addresses of the people with signing permissions on the account.

We’ll then email your signatories and ask them to authorise the request.

Change payment limits

Mobile App and Digital Banking

You can now update your daily payment limits in the mobile app or Digital Banking. The maximum limit is £50,000.00 per account for Business customers across Digital, Mobile & Open Banking. Payments made on a Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday will form part of the next working day's allowance.

To change your 'Payment limits' using the Mobile Banking App, tap on the ‘Payments’ icon at the bottom of the screen, select ‘Payments settings’ and then ‘Payment limits’.

In Digital Banking, select ‘Payments and Transfers’ from the top menu, then on the Payments and Transfers page, select ‘Manage payment limits.
Select the limit you wish to amend.
Select the amount you wish your limit to be set to, this can only be changed in increments of £500.00
Select ‘Next’ to navigate to the next page.
If decreasing your limit, please confirm the change and your limit will take effect immediately.
If you wish to increase your limit, please follow the on screen instructions for support. On mobile app, you will need to use biometric approval to complete the limit change.

In Digital Banking, you will need to provide authentication via Multi Factor Authentication or your card and card reader, depending on what you have set up.

Releasing bank security on a loan

You'll need:

Your Business Loan Account number and sort code.
Full Property address to be released, including the Title number and date charge registered, if known. If the property is in Scotland, you must use a solicitor and provide their details
Type of security to be released e.g. property, guarantee or life policy.
Your contact information

Without all this, we'll be unable to process the request.

Unless the loan is fully repaid, any requests to release security will need to be reviewed and approved and will be subject to credit approval.

Is the release for a Limited Company?

Check if the property legal charge is outstanding at Companies House or at the Land Registry before contacting us.

If it is at Companies House, it's the responsibility of the Legal Estate Owner to arrange for the completion and filing of the appropriate forms at Companies House. Check the Land Registry records here.

Are you a Solicitor acting on behalf of a customer?

We can only accept written requests, as we need the customer's written consent. You can send the request to:

Change your details

Change your business address

The quickest way to change your business address , your statement address, or both is through the mobile app or Digital Banking.

In the mobile app:

Log in to the mobile app.
Tap the profile icon on the top left in the app, then 'manage business details'.
Next to your current business address, there's an option to edit. From here you can enter your new postcode and either select your address or enter it manually.

To make changes in the app, you'll need to be registered for Biometric approval.

In Digital Banking:

Log in to Digital Banking.
Click on 'Chat to Cora’ in the bottom right.
Type ‘change my business address’ in the chat window. Cora will take the details and process your request.

If you don’t use the mobile app or Digital Banking:

You can change your business or statement address using our digital change business address form.

Change your business name

The quickest way to change your business name is through the mobile app or Digital Banking.

In the mobile app:

Log in to the mobile app.
Tap 'Help’ on the bottom of the screen.
Tap ‘Chat to Cora’ and ask Cora to ‘change business name’. Cora will take the details and process your request.

In Digital Banking:

Log in to Digital Banking.
Click on 'Chat to Cora’ in the bottom right.
Type ‘change my business name’. Cora will take the details and process your request.

If you don’t use the mobile app or Digital Banking:

You can update your business name using our digital change business name form.

Change your primary contact

The quickest way to change your primary contact is through the mobile app or Digital Banking.

In the mobile app:

Tap 'Help’ on the bottom of the screen.
Tap ‘Chat to Cora’ and ask Cora to ‘change primary contact’. Cora will take the details and process your request.

In Digital Banking:

Log in to Digital Banking.
Click on 'Chat to Cora’ in the bottom right.
Type ‘change primary contact’. Cora will take the details and process your request.

If you don't use the mobile app or Digital Banking:

You can change your primary contact using our digital change primary contact form.

Change your contact details

You can update your email address and phone number in Digital Banking.

Log in to Digital Banking.
Go to ‘Your details’ in the main menu.
Click 'update' next to the details you'd like to change.

To make these changes, you'll need to be registered for Biometric approval or have your card reader to hand.

Click the ‘Need help’ button if you need any support.

If you need to add signatories to your account, you can do this in the mobile app.

Your business will need to be either:

A sole trader
A limited company
A UK Company Limited by Guarantee

Order a cheque or paying-in book

You can order cheque books and paying in books by using this form:

Once you’ve placed your first order via the form, you can log in to Digital Banking or the mobile app. Then Cora, our digital assistant, can also place the order for you.

Click ‘Help’, then ‘Chat to Cora’ and ask Cora to ‘order cheque book’.

Apply for or manage an overdraft

The easiest way to apply for an overdraft is to log in to Digital Banking and follow the steps there.

How to increase or decrease an existing overdraft

Our new online application form is the fastest way to apply for a limit increase to your existing business overdraft.

Order certificates of interest or balance

The quickest way to view a certificate of interest is via Digital Banking or the Mobile app. It will appear when it’s ready for you to download whenever you need it. You can download this document in a .pdf format from Digital Banking or from the mobile app to keep for your records, print or send.

Our digital assistant, Cora, could open an additional account for any account type you already have.

Log in to Digital Banking and click ‘Chat to Cora’. If you’re in the app, tap ‘Help’ then ‘Chat to Cora’.

Type ‘open additional account’ in the chat window and Cora will take the details and process your request.
