What are Digital Lessons?
Our new Digital Lessons are designed to help you get started and build confidence when banking at home with either the Royal Bank app or Digital Banking.
App available to personal and business banking customers aged 11+ using compatible iOS and Android devices and a UK or international mobile number in specific countries.
Digital Banking available to customers aged 11+ with a Royal Bank of Scotland account.

How to log in online and set up fingerprint or face ID on the app
Making payments and transfers
Managing standing orders and Direct Debits
How to use your card reader in Digital Banking
How to approve using biometrics
Who are they for?
They're available to all Royal Bank of Scotland customers and are a great way to get you started and build confidence in using the Royal Bank app or Digital Banking by showing you how to use some of the most popular features to help you bank from home.
How do I sign up?
To choose a lesson at a date and time to suit you, just email us using the template here.
We use a video communications company called Zoom to provide safe and secure video calls. If you're joining on your phone or tablet, you’ll need to download the Zoom app to take part in our Digital Lessons.
As a reminder, we'll send you an email before your lesson starts containing a link to the lesson and an SMS reminder an hour before the lesson.
What do I need for Digital Lessons?
- The Zoom app installed if you're using a mobile device
- An internet connection
- Access to an internet browser if joining from your laptop or PC

To make the most of your Digital Lesson make sure you have the Royal Bank app installed on your mobile phone.
Frequently asked questions
The best thing about Digital Lessons is that they are tailored around the people who attend.
All lessons will cover payments, transfers, direct debit cancellations and standing order changes as well as basic navigation of Digital Banking and the Royal Bank app.
The host will also demonstrate any feature/s you request or help with any other questions.
No, you will only be able to see the presenter. All attendees videos will be turned off during the Digital Lessons.
Yes, the lessons are designed to be interactive. The presenter will stop frequently during the lesson for any questions you may have.
If you want to ask a question but don't want to speak out loud you can use the private chat box on Zoom. This lets you type questions to the presenter and have them answered using chat.
Yes, you'll receive a reminder email before your lesson which will contains a link to the Zoom lesson.
An hour before the lesson, we'll also send you an SMS message to remind you of the session and the email we sent.
