Upgrade or change my account

If you'd prefer one of our other accounts, you can change your account online. It's quick and easy to change.

If you're not sure which account to change to, you can explore our current account range.

You need to be a current account holder, 18+ and a UK resident. If you're a non-UK resident, once your account has changed to a Select account you'll be unable to upgrade to any Reward accounts. Specific account eligibility and monthly fees may apply.

Introducing Cora

Cora, your digital assistant, is available 24/7 and can help to manage your account and answer a variety of day-to-day banking queries.

If you log into Digital Banking or the mobile app before starting a chat, Cora can offer additional support including:

  • Changing your details.
  • Get a PIN reminder.
  • Reporting your card lost or stolen.

Where to find Cora

Mobile app

Go to the home screen of your mobile banking app. Tap ‘Help’ at the bottom of the screen, then 'Chat to Cora' to start a chat. Criteria apply.

Digital Banking

Log into Digital Banking. From your home screen, click ‘Chat to Cora’ to start a chat. Criteria apply.

You can find Cora on the bottom right of your screen waiting to help on some of our web pages (including this one).

Switch to Royal Bank

The Current Account Switch Service will do all the work when it comes to switching, moving everything across from your old account all within 7 working days, including Direct Debits and standing orders. All you need to do is tell us the details of your old bank account and when you want the switch to start.

We can not switch savings accounts or ISAs through this service. Any other products you have with your old bank will not be moved at the same time.
