When will I be able to use my new account?
Digital Banking and Telephone Banking
If you are a Personal, Premier or Business customer and you have set up Digital Banking when opening your new account by:
- Opting in for Digital Banking
- And setting up your security number and password
you will be able to use your new account in 24 working hours after opening. This will include being able to:
- Log in to Digital Banking - you will be sent an email to confirm when your account is ready to use online, if you provided an email address when you applied for your account
- Transfer money in to the account
- Transfer money out of the account
- Have access to Telephone Banking
If you didn't opt in for Digital Banking at the time of opening your new account, you will be sent an activation code either by post or text message. Remember to use this activation code before the expiry date, which will be highlighted in the letter or text message.
Receiving your card
Your debit card and PIN for your new account will reach you within 5 to 10 days of the account opening. These will arrive separately by post.
