This message normally indicates your browser has blocked cookies we have tried to send from our Digital Banking service. In order for our Digital Banking service to function correctly you must configure your browser to accept cookies.
Please check your browser is set to accept cookies then try accessing our site again.
Below is a basic guide on enabling cookies depending on the browser you are using, if you need further guidance refer to your browser vendors support pages.
Internet Explorer
The instructions below apply to Internet Explorer versions IE7 and above.
- Click 'Tools', then 'Internet Options' or simply press Alt + T and then press O.
- Select the 'Privacy' tab.
- Select any setting except 'Block All Cookies', we would suggest either 'Medium' which is the default setting or 'Medium High'.
- Click 'Apply' and 'OK'.
If you use custom settings Internet Explorer will still accept cookies from our site as long as the 'Always allow session cookies' box is checked within Advanced Privacy Settings.
Firefox (Windows)
The instructions below apply to Firefox versions 3.6.x and above for Microsoft Windows.
- Click 'Tools', then 'Options'.
- Select the 'Privacy' tab.
- In the history section select either 'Remember history' or 'Never remember history' from the 'Firefox will:' dropdown menu. If you are using custom settings for history make sure the option 'Accept cookies from sites' is ticked.
- Click 'OK'.
Firefox (Mac)
The instructions below apply to Firefox versions v3.6.x and above for Mac OS.
- Click 'Firefox', then 'Preferences'.
- Select the 'Privacy' section.
- In the history section select either 'Remember history' or 'Never remember history' from the 'Firefox will:' dropdown menu. If you are using custom settings for history make sure the option 'Accept cookies from sites' is ticked.
- Click 'OK' to close the options window.
Safari (Windows)
The instructions below apply to Safari versions v4 and above for Microsoft Windows.
- Click 'Edit' then 'Preferences'.
- Select the 'Security' tab.
- Next to Accept Cookies choose either the 'Always' or 'Only from sites I visit' option.
- Close the window.
Safari (Mac)
The instructions below apply to Safari versions v4 and above for Mac OS.
- Click 'Safari' then 'Preferences'.
- Select the 'Security' tab.
- Next to Accept Cookies choose either the 'Always' or 'Only from sites I visit' option.
- Close the window.
Google Chrome 5 (Windows)
The instructions below apply to Google Chrome v5 and above.
- Click on 'Customise and control Google Chrome' the spanner icon in top right hand corner.
- Select 'Options'.
- Select the 'Under the Bonnet' tab.
- Click on the 'Content settings...' button.
- In the window that opens make sure 'Allow local data to be set (recommended)' is ticked.
- Click 'Close' to close the options window.
Google Chrome 5 (Mac)
- Click 'Chrome'.
- Select 'Preferences...'.
- Select the 'Under the Bonnet' tab.
- Click on the 'Content settings...' button.
- In the window that opens make sure 'Allow local data to be set (recommended)' is ticked.
- Click 'Close' to close the options window.
Opera (Windows)
The instructions below apply to Opera for Microsoft Windows.
- From the 'Menu' select 'Settings' then 'Quick preferences' or simply press F12.
- Click 'Enable Cookies'
Opera (Mac)
The instructions below apply to Opera for Mac OS.
- Click 'Opera' then hover over 'Quick preferences' or simply press the Option key (alt) + F12
- Click 'Enable Cookies'
AOL
AOL uses the same Internet Options that are used by Internet Explorer on your PC.
- Open the Windows menu and select 'Control Panel'
- Click on the 'Internet Options' Icon
- Select the 'Privacy' tab
- Select any setting except 'Block All Cookies', we would suggest either 'Medium' which is the default setting or 'Medium High'
- Click 'Apply' and 'OK'
If you already had AOL open you may need to close and re-open the program before if picks up your changes.
I've enabled cookies but I'm still getting the same message.
If you still get the same message having checked your browser is set to allow cookies, try clicking 'Restart Log In' from the left hand menu to refresh the page and try again.
The message can also occur if you have our web site saved in your list of favorites/bookmarks and the favorite/bookmark has become damaged - in this case try going directly to www.digitalbanking.rbs.co.uk (opens in a new window) instead of using your favorite/bookmark.
If you have installed any add-ons or plug-ins on your browser that block cookies either configure the add-on to accept cookies from our web site or disable the add-on.
