I have a student account which will change to a graduate account because of graduation. How do these changes impact my new account?
If you hold a Student account and are graduating this year, we'll be in touch in July/August to let you know when we'll be moving you to Graduate. Your account name, account number, sort code and debit card will stay the same.
Your overdraft limit will stay the same for the duration of your time on the account unless you chose to make a change.
You won’t pay interest on an arranged overdraft up to maximum limit of £3,250 for the next 12 months.
In your second and third year as a graduate, the terms of your overdraft will change:
- In year two, for overdraft limits of £2,250 or more the interest free amount will reduce to £2,250, this means you'll pay interest on any overdraft amount you use that is between £2,250 and the maximum £3,250
- In year three, for overdraft limits of £1,250 or more the interest free amount will reduce to £1,250, this means you'll pay interest on any overdraft amount you use that is between £1,250 and the maximum £2,250
After three years, we’ll move you to a Select account. Your existing overdraft limit will stay the same, but it won’t be interest-free. We’ll be in touch again next year to remind you about the changes to your overdraft.
